“My daughter, although a hard working student, always struggled with math. This year, algebra II proved to be her most challenging subject. Despite hours of studying and extra help from her math teacher, she barely scored a D on most exams. We knew we had to do something different, and decided to try private tutoring. Soon after Aaron began tutoring my daughter we saw substantial improvement. In a short amount of time the D's turned into B's, with even few A's in between. Aaron breaks down and explains the subject matter in a manner that my daughter fully understands. His tutoring has translated into real results for my daughter. Beyond academics, for the first time my daughter has confidence when she walks into her math class. Aaron is professional and courteous, and has made a remarkable difference in my daughter's academic success.” - Steve Kenney, Parent of High School Student

“Aaron Shumsky has been tutoring my daughter for the past 3 years. He began helping her in the 8th grade and has continued to work with her in high school with algebra and geometry. With Aaron's help, she has been able to maintain a B to B+ average in her math class. Aaron comes to our home once a week to work with her. He is always very flexible with the schedule. If we find out she has a test or quiz, he will always come the day before to work with her. I have found that in addition to strengthening her math skills, Aaron has increased her confidence in her ability to solve math problems. Aaron is very patient and knowledgeable in all areas of math. I highly recommend Aaron Shumsky as a math tutor for any student." - Kit Connors, Parent of High School Student

"Aaron is a tutor that delivers results...When my son came home with a 40 on his first geometry test this year, I knew it was time for a tutor. After only 2, one-hour sessions with Aaron it was time for the next test. When my son came home with an 86, I knew the choice to get a tutor was a wise one. Now, after 10 weeks of tutoring we have a solid B math student. From a D to a B in ten weeks...You be the judge." - RB, Parent of High School Student

“My daughter has always been motivated to do extra in math, as it is a subject that is both challenging and definitive for her. When she was younger, we would reinforce and supplement classroom teaching with outside support programs such as Kumon, or just doing puzzles. Upon entering high school she ask for a more personalized type of support in which she could have discussions about the logic, and methodology of problems or formulas.

We reached out and interviewed several tutors, and eventually selected Aaron when our daughter started her high school program in ninth grade. Our daughter is now a senior, and Aaron has continued to support her throughout high school. With Aaron’s support, she has excelled in all areas of math. This includes academic grades, testing, homework and problem solving skills.

Aaron has many qualities that have helped her be successful, and continue to enjoy math. The first worth mentioning is his ability to get quickly grounded in a specific area and “hit the ground running”. This has allowed for immediate interaction on the subject matter. His knowledge of math is extremely broad based….whether Honors Algebra , AP Statistics or anything in between, he has been able to answer her questions, and more importantly has taught her logic/problem solving skills that continue to build a strong foundation in her learning. The ability to communicate and teach is also a strong skill Aaron possesses. If one approach does not work, he has the ability to use another until the student is “on the same page” with him, and truly understands the question and the answer. He listens to the student’s questions, and does not just lecture and use only one method to communicate. Flexibility in scheduling has also enabled us to have Aaron’s assistance during critical times that may not have been previously known.

Knowledgeable, dependable, dedicated, and results oriented are the words I associate with Aaron………….” - Parent of High School Student
